The Reed family and Planet Ford of Humble have done it again! For the third year in a row, Randall and Sherry Reed along with Planet Ford family have donated a brand new Ford to Humble ISD’s District Teacher of the Year! This year’s winner was (drum roll) was Bryan “Bree” Welter from Ross Sterling Middle School. Mr. Welter’s was announced as Teacher of the Year by Shelby Reed and Chuck Kramer, General Manager/Operating Partner on behalf of Planet Ford, at the Education Foundation Gala that was held in this month.
“Randall and Sherry Reed and Planet Ford are long-time supporters of Humble ISD who wanted to do something really special to honor the teaching profession,” said Superintendent Dr. Guy Sconzo. “They see the positive difference that teachers make for students and our community. I am very grateful for this extraordinary offer in support of teachers.”
Mr. Welter’s is not winning a lease, he was able to actually win his choice of a new Ford Escape or a new Ford Fusion.

“We are thrilled to be part of this amazing celebration of wonderful educators,” said Randall Reed, owner of Planet Ford and World Class Automotive Group. “These teachers give so much to our kids and to our community; this is the least we can do.”
Mr. Kramer agrees, “Teachers are at the heart of our great community. Our Planet Ford team in Humble is proud to honor the best of the best with a truly Ford’tastic prize — a brand new vehicle,” he said. “We hope that Mr. Welter’s will enjoy his Ford for many happy miles down the road.”
Last year, Charlie Duke of Humble Highschool was named Humble ISD 2014-2015 Teacher of the Year by Mr. Reed. He has enjoyed many happy miles in his now 1-year-old Ford.
The first Humble ISD 2013-2014 Teacher of the Year to receive a new Ford was Joanna Grigsby of Elm Grove Elementary School. Grigsby was announced as Teacher of the Year at the Education Foundation Gala where she was presented with her choice of a new Ford Escape or a new Ford Fusion. As you can see here, she selected the Ford Escape. She has enjoyed her SUV for 2 years now.
