Ford CEO James Hackett Awards Planet Ford in Humble Highest Honors

Randall Reed, owner of Planet Ford in Humble has achieved a historic Ford first. He is the first independent dealer to win the highly coveted Triple Crown at every World Class Automotive dealership in the same year. In addition, in 2018, Randall Reed became one of only seven dealers inducted into the Ford Dealer Hall of Fame.

One of the biggest highlights from the Grand Opening celebration at Planet Ford in Spring came from the awards and ribbon cutting ceremony. Ford Motor Company executives were on site to award Mr. Reed, Mrs. Reed and Planet Ford with Ford’s highest recognition, the Triple Crown, as well as their 6th consecutive President’s Award.

“We are thrilled to celebrate this unprecedented achievement of every independent dealer’s location earning Ford’s highest honor,” said Mr. Reed.

Ford’s CEO, James Hackett; Mark LaNeve, Vice President of U.S. Marketing, Sales and Service; Joy Falotico, group vice president, Lincoln and Chief Marketing Office; and Elena Ford, a member of the Ford family, among many other Ford executives, spoke at the event and presented a selection of the groups 25 awards. From honoring Mr. Reed as being only the 7th Ford Top Sales Hall of Fame inductee to receiving a historic Triple Crown Award for every Randall Reed Ford dealership earned in the same year; it was a momentous occasion.

Planet Ford in Humble Awards:

  • Ford Dealer Hall of Fame–based on sales volume but also requires a dealer be respected and admired loved by the Ford Motor Company, Ford Credit, their own employees as well as other Ford dealers.
  • Ford Triple Crown–awarded to the most elite dealers in the nation. In order to be recognized, a dealership must receive all of Ford’s top awards, which include: the President’s Award for customer service; the Ford One Hundred Club, an honor based on vehicle sales; and the Premier Club.
  • Ford President’s Award–given to recognize that a dealership has achieved excellence in customer satisfaction.
  • Top One Hundred Club–recognition for achieving excellence in Sales, Service or Parts.
  • Partners in Quality–recognizes dealers who have shown the highest level of outstanding customer service and satisfaction as well as their ongoing partnership with Ford Credit.
  • Premier Club–honorees are comprised of an elite group that is truly committed to excellence.
  • Salute to Dealers–a Ford community service initiative that identifies and honors Dealer Principals who improve the lives of those in need.

Since the inception of the Triple Crown, only 78 dealers have achieved the distinction, with less than half a percent winning it on an annual basis.

Tomishia Aronson Wins 2nd Chance Sweepstakes

The #PlanetFordWhisperer contest for our sister dealership Planet Ford in Spring was a massive success. The contest had so many amazing entrants, with only one, Michael Page, ultimately winning it all and taking home the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350. That left a new Ford F-150 Raptor up for grabs in the PlanetFordWhisperer/2ndChance giveaway.

On May 18th, Randall Reed, the Ford Whisperer and owner of Planet Ford 59 and 45, drew Tomishia “Liz” Aronson’s name. The crowd held their breathe as her name was called out multiple times. Then, just as they wondered if they should call another name, she showed up looking cool as a cucumber (really she was just speechless and in utter shock).

“I’m still really in shock and I’m so excited,” Ms. Aronson said. “I remember when the Raptor came out; it was my dream truck. Winning it pretty much made my whole life.”

Ms. Aronson won the 2nd dream Ford by entering the PlanetWhisperers 2nd Chance Winner Sweepstakes that was held the week leading up to the Grand Opening. All guest had to do was RSVP at planetfordwhisperer.com/2ndchance and then show up to the event or even show up and sign up while there.  It only took a couple minutes to enter and it turned out to be well worth Ms. Aronson’s time.

Everyone at Planet Ford congratulates her on wrangling her dream Raptor. She already has plans to make it her own. “I’m bringing it in next week to get a bed liner,” she said. Clearly, the Ford Whisperer found the right home for this wild F-150.

#PlanetFordWhisperer Grand Prize Winner Announced!

Planet Ford in Humble would like to send a special thanks to everyone for coming out and making the Grand Opening celebration at our sister dealership Planet Ford in Spring a night to remember. We are particularly humbled and proud about the awards ceremony. This is our sixth year in a row that we have taken home the coveted Triple Crown and President’s Award.

One of our favorite fun moments of the evening was seeing the #PlanetFordWhisperer finally get announced and pick their Ford vehicle. The Reed and Planet Ford family would like to thank everyone who entered their creative videos and photo essays. The #PlanetFordWhisperer contest moderators and panel of judges had an incredibly hard time choosing the best of the best. “There were so many entries that were deserving of the prize; it was hard to narrow it down,” said Randall Reed, owner of Planet Ford and the Ford Whisperer.

The grand prize ultimately went to Michael Page, who created the video Into The Wild. As Randall Reed and his wife, Sherry along with Dana Tyson from Sunny 99.1 read out the name from the envelope, you could see the look of disbelief and shock on Michael’s face.

Michael had his choice of a new Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 or Ford Raptor.  He opted for the new Shelby GT350!

The others judge favorites were so incredible, they won a Grand Prize Pack! So, everyone is truly a winner.

Planet Ford 45 also gave away a special Planet Ford Whisperer Brand Ambassador Award that went to Chris Lee. Lee was recognized for his continued dedication to the Ford and Planet Ford brands. He is a passionate Ford lifer and it shows in every one of his videos he posted. Thank you Chris.

Then, it was time for Planet Ford 45 to announce the #PlanetFordWhisperer 2nd Chance Winner! The 2nd Chance Winner sweepstakes took place the entire week leading up to the event. All you had to do was enter your information and show up to the event. That evening, after Randall Reed awarded the #PlanetFordWhisperer Contestant with the GT350, he announced that the 2nd Chance Winner was Tomishia Aronson!

We want to thank all of the bands and live entertainment who made this event extra special. And lastly, again, a very special thank you to all the contestants and everyone who came out to the event. Because of your support, we were able to make this Grand Opening one to remember. Thank you.

Planet Ford Drive 4 UR School Earns For Porter HS

Randall Reed’s Planet Ford in Humble enjoys working with our community to drive change, especially when it comes to helping our area youth. We are excited to once again be hosting and sponsoring Drive 4 UR School at Quick Lane Tire & Auto Center, April 24, from 3-7 p.m for the Porter High School Football Booster Club.

Test-drive a Ford vehicle, and get a donation for a cause you care about. Fund-raising has never been easier. Take a spin in one of the coolest new Fords to help raise up to $6,000 for your school. It’s as simple as that.

How it works:

For every test drive taken in a Ford vehicle at the event, Ford will donate $20 to the participating school (in this case the Porter High School Football Booster Club) and up to $6,000 per event. The goal is to raise the maximum donation of $6,000 at every Drive 4 UR School, which can raise money for virtually anything, ranging from athletic equipment for school teams to canned foods to fill a food pantry.

History:

It’s no secret that school budgets are tight, often leaving various programs underfunded. In an effort to devise a creative, low-pressure fund-raising opportunity, Ford launched the Drive 4 UR School test-drive program in 2007.

To date, more than $35 million has been raised.

2018 MUSTANG COBRA JET CELEBRATES 50TH ANNIVERSARY

The Randall Reed’s Planet Ford in Humble team is excited to announce the all-new 2018 50th anniversary Mustang Cobra Jet by Ford Performance. This amazing performance car is going to be the most powerful and quickest Mustang from the factory ever. The 5.2-liter supercharged Coyote V8 will be capable of topping 150 mph. The iconic Pony will feature a limited production run of 68 cars, which will be available in Race Red or Oxford White.

According to Ford Motor Company, 50 years ago, the Ford Mustang Cobra Jet took to the staging lanes at drag strips everywhere – and along with the resulting wins, a legend was born. Now comes the return of the Mustang Cobra Jet drag strip race car by Ford Performance – targeted to be the most powerful and quickest version from the factory yet, capable of running the quarter-mile in the mid-8-second range while topping 150 mph.

“From the very first Mustang Cobra Jets dominating the 1968 NHRA Winternationals to our modern-day Cobra Jet racers, the Ford Performance Parts team continues to build the Cobra Jet brand based on its success at the track over five decades,” said Eric Cin, global director, Ford Performance Parts. “That, in turn, has inspired generations of Mustang fans to create their own performance machines for the street.”

Engineered by Ford Performance Parts, the purpose-built drag racer developed on the 2018 Ford Mustang platform is limited to 68 non-VIN production cars. It includes a supercharged 5.2-liter Coyote V8 and unique four-link rear suspension. It also has a Ford 9-inch solid rear axle from Strange Engineering. Race add-ons include NHRA-certified roll cage, Racetech FIA seats, and a drag race-specific coil-over suspension with specially designed Weld Racing wheels with 50th anniversary badging.

The result is a turnkey racer that showcases many performance add-ons available from the Ford Performance Parts catalog for Mustang, which dates back to the original 1968 Cobra Jet. The 2018 Mustang Cobra Jet features an available commemorative 50th anniversary graphics package and anniversary badging, and will be offered in either Race Red or Oxford White.

Final 2018 Mustang Cobra Jet ordering and product specifications will be released this summer. The car is designed to be legal for National Hot Rod Association drag racing, along with several National Mustang Racers Association and National Muscle Car Association classes.

“This is a great annual tradition hosted by an amazing association for a truly great cause,” said John Centner, General Manager of Randall Reed’s Planet Ford in Humble. “We are proud to be part of and help support this wonderful community event and hope to see lots of our neighbors there.”

Planet Ford’s Helping Hands, Helping HAAM

Randall Reed’s Planet Ford in Humble on Hwy. 59 are proud to support the wonderful organizations in our area that help so many in need. This week, Kelly Paull, Community Relations Coordinator and Bodie Wagener deliver the meat from the Humble Livestock Show Auction to Humble Area Assistance Ministries (HAAM).

Seen in this photo, this was 560 lbs. of pork and beef donated on behalf of Planet Ford 59, Kevin J. Lossen of Kings Crossing Car Care, Danell Fields chms, Red Door Realty, Aries Building Systems, K’s Motor Sports, along with Jo Priddy and the Humble Alumni Buyers Group.
