Chuck Kramer, GM/OP of Planet Ford in Humble, presents Mrs. Rood (Humble ISD Teacher of the Year) with keys to new Ford Mustang

Congratulations go to Brandy Rood, 2016 Humble Independent School District’s Teacher of the Year. As part of her prize, she received a brand new Ford Mustang from Randall Reed and Planet Ford in Humble, Texas.

During the Totally 80s: Back to the Future of Education 2016 Humble ISD Education Foundation Gala Friday, April 1, 10 nominees were recognized for their ongoing and outstanding excellence in education.

During her award-acceptance speech, Mrs. Rood said, “This is amazing. This means a lot to a girl who wasn’t supposed to be here.”

Per The Observer newspaper: When Rood was a small child, her home was destroyed by a fire leaving her homeless and with burns over 40 percent of her body including her lungs and vocal chords. After enduring 40 surgeries, Rood was bullied by her classmates because of her voice and scars but it was theater arts that Rood turned to as a way to escape. Her theater classes, theater teacher and students saw past the scars and it was these experiences and the impact a teacher can have on others that made Rood want to become a teacher.

“This is a culmination of hard work and realizing my destiny, to a certain extent, because of everything I went through and it proves that God knew better than I did on what his plan for me was,” Mrs. Rood said. “My purpose is to work with children specifically teenagers who are going through struggles and this proves I am in the right place.”

“There’s no one that is more deserving,” said Chuck Kramer, Planet Ford in Humble’s partner and general manager. “We’re happy to be able to help recognize all of their never-ending efforts.”

Flashback to 2nd car giveaway in 2014. Mr. Reed shows Mr. Duke his new Ford he received from Planet Ford.

It’s that time of year again. The evening we all come together to celebrate those who educate. Randall Reed’s Planet Ford is proud to be part of the celebration and helping say thank you with making a “dream car” come true for one of our very special community educators during this year’s “Totally 80s” themed Humble Independent School District Education Foundation Gala.

Friday night at 6:30 p.m., Humble ISD’s 10 District Teacher of the Year finalists will be announced and recognized at the Humble Civic Center. One of the “totally tubular” 10 Teacher of the Year finalists will be named District Teacher of the Year and handed the keys to a new Ford Mustang, donated by Randall and Sherry Reed and Planet Ford.

“This is one of our favorite events of the year,” said Randall Reed, owner. “We appreciate what educators do for our kids and for our community. We enjoy being able to surprise one of them and let all teachers know how thankful we are for all they do.”

But wait…. there’s more! The runner-up finalist gets a wonderful and grand prize getaway to Florida.  Of course, all of the finalists are winners, so each one will be honored on stage and awarded a new iPad, donated by parents and alumni Jonathan and Carrie Brinsden.

The Humble ISD’s Teacher of the Year program recognizes educators for their passion and commitment to excellence in education.

Each Humble ISD school selected their Campus Teacher of the Year, who were then invited to submit written materials as to why they should be considered a finalist. A selection committee chose 10 from among the entries of 44 Campus Teachers of the Year . They conducted interviews and then selected an Elementary and a Secondary Teacher of the Year. Friday, April 1st, 2016 one of them will be announced April 1 as the District Teacher of the Year, handed keys to a new car and drive off into the night. And that’s no fooling.

Planet Ford Community Director Makes Houston Headline

Kristi Williams community humbleAt Randall Reed’s Planet Ford in Humble, we have a lot to be proud of, from our 4th consecutive Triple Crown to our award-winning team.  One of those team members is making headlines of her own with Planet Ford.  Kristi Williams, Director of Community Relations, is featured in The Tribune newspaper this week for her outstanding work in the community on behalf of Planet Ford on Hwy. 59.

In the article, Mrs. Williams is referred to as the dealership’s “secret weapon,” and the Planet Ford team would agree. “Kristi has worked diligently to create so many wonderful community connections,” said Chuck Kramer, General Manager and Operating Partner of Planet Ford. “We believe it is key that our dealership and team give back and help the community that we are thankful to be a part of.”

Randall Reed, owner of Planet Ford and World Class Automotive agrees, “Kristi is passionate about her job and about our community. She’s been fundamental in helping us select, and continue to seek out, a variety of organizations, charities and events that allow us to offer support to our schools, our children and those in need of a helping hand. ”

The article highlighted several community leaders that share a similar point of view. Humble ISD School Superintendent Guy Sconzo, for example, says Mrs. Williams is “amazing.” He added, “That’s the only word coming close to adequately describing Kristi. Her passion for making life better for children is unparalleled. She is always there when needed and often, she takes the initiative to provide even when not asked! She and Randall Reed have been a very real blessing to literally thousands of children in our schools.”

Some of the organizations Mrs. Williams, Randall Reed, Chuck Kramer and Planet Ford are proud to work with include: Best Buddies, Village Learning Center, Memorial Hermann Northeast and Project Mammogram, Wounded Warriors, Humble ISD Education Foundation, the local FFA and Houston Rodeo, just to name a few.

Mrs. Williams has had only three jobs in her lifetime. Thankfully, Planet Ford became part of that list after she met, Mr. Reed. “When I worked for two OB/GYNs,” Mrs. Williams recalls, “I was a customer of Randall’s and for months he asked me to come work for him. We became friends. I saw his passion for giving, his faith and his belief in honor and support for those in need. How could I not say yes?”

Over the years, Mrs. Williams has helped pay the Reed’s and Planet Ford family’s passion for community forward.  “Kristi Williams has embraced Project Mammogram and become a true ambassador for the program,” said Memorial Hermann Northeast CEO Heath Rushing. “Her commitment to helping raise much needed dollars to help support this vital program demonstrates her commitment to our community. Project Mammogram provides breast screening services for women who could not otherwise afford or access the services. Without community champions like Kristi, the breast screenings would simply not occur.”

Others share the same sentiment.  “Kristi is one of a kind,” said Kim Brusatori, founder and CEO of The Village Learning Center. “She is one of the most enthusiastic and driven supporters that The Village has. As a representative of Randall Reed’s Planet Ford, she has one of the best jobs in the world. Through Randall Reed’s commitment to the local community, Kristi is able to spread joy and happiness to others. Who wouldn’t love a job like hers?”

Mrs. Williams loves her job and working with the community. It shows in all that she does each and every day. The Planet Ford in Humble team is proud to see her receive recognition for her hard work in this week’s The Tribune news. We invite you to read more of the article by clicking here. Planet Ford in Humble Receives Multiple Awards Including Fourth Consecutive Triple Crown

ford triple crown award chuck kramer shelby reed planet ford

Ford Motor Co. team members present awards including 3rd consecutive Triple Crown to Shelby Reed, co-owner and Chuck Kramer, GM/OP in 2015 for dealership achievements in 2014.

Randall Reed’s Planet Ford in Humble is proud to announce the award-winning team has done it again. For the fourth year in a row, the Houston-area dealership is the recipient of multiple prestigious awards for outstanding customer service and sales, including back-to-back Ford Triple Crown and President’s Award honors.

The Planet Ford team (serving greater Houston, Kingwood, Atascocita, Conroe areas) is among a select and elite group of Ford dealerships to be recognized with these prestigious awards by Ford Motor Company.

The highly coveted awards recognize the top-dealerships that have excelled in automotive retailing by providing exceptional customer service and satisfaction. The Triple Crown is garnered by only one percent of dealerships nationwide that must qualify by first winning the President’s Award for customer satisfaction, the Ford Top 100 and the ESP Premier Club award for customer service.

“Winning such accolades once is a huge accomplishment, but to win them year after year after year shows the daily commitment the team must have to deliver the best customer experience for our community,” said Randall Reed, owner. “I couldn’t be more proud of this team. This is a true honor, especially since the awards are a result of the feedback from the people we value most – our wonderful customers.”

In addition to winning the Triple Crown, the President’s Award and Ford Top 100 for Sales, Planet Ford is also recognized with the Partners in Quality Award and Elite Dealer status for 2015. Many of these honors are generated by costumer service experience. For example, in order to achieve the President’s Award, a dealership must exceed customer expectations in every single department.

Triple crown

Ford Motor Co. awards Planet Ford with multiple awards, including 2nd consecutive Triple Crown in 2014 for the dealerships achievements in 2013.

“To achieve such a high level of customer satisfaction for so many years requires a team who cares, is passionate, tenacious and give it 100% every single day,” said Chuck Kramer, General Manager/Operating Partner. “Our dealership family has all of those qualities and it is shows in the high level of customer service the provide.”

These elite Ford Motor Company awards salute top-performing Ford dealerships, including Planet Ford, that embrace these philosophies and achieve the highest levels of customer satisfaction – in both sales and service.

Planet Ford Supports Operation Phoenix for Veterans

SUP ROUTE AND RALLY DATES3,545,433 paddles… (give or take) that is the number that Josh Collins is literally striving toward in his “Operation Phoenix” quest. Randall Reed’s Planet Ford in Humble (serving Houston, Humble, Atascocita, Kingwood) is proud to support and be part of this journey. This is one that will test his strength, stamina, and determination. It’s one he has been training months for and begins this March.

Operation Phoenix is Mr. Collin’s 3,500-mile SUP expedition from Texas to the Statue of Liberty. He is making the trip in an effort to raise both money and awareness for his fellow veterans. Completing the journey will be a victory on multiple levels.

Two years ago, Mr. Collins was going through darkest time of his life, but The Task Force Dagger Foundation offered solutions that helped saved his life and his family. “My project Veteran Voyage 360 is purposed to raise awareness and resources for what they are doing,” he said.

The name of the voyage is based on his struggle and overcoming it. In an interview, he said, “I’m rising from the ashes and starting over.” During Mr. Collins time the US Army he served with Special Forces. He suffered multiple traumatic brain injuries. However, it was a major concussion during a training accident in September 2013 that was the final straw.

He said that his life, personality and behavior changed. He was put on medications, but he also began drinking. He life and family ere falling apart. The medications seemed to make matters worse. To top it off, his brain injuries make him feel the world was always moving.

Then one day, something happened to change the path of Mr. Collins world. he attempted to find that balance on a standup paddle board. “When I get on a paddleboard, it is the difference between being in a dark room and flipping the lights on. The horizon is suddenly flat again and I don’t feel any of the movement when I’m on the water.” Now, he will take to those waters and travel miles in hopes of helping others to get the help they need to move forward.

“Instead of just being on a dozen different prescription meds, and ‘living’ out my life, Task Force Dagger put me through programs that have completely changed my prognosis, and moving in a positive direction of recovery,” Mr. Collins shared. “I am now only on required/essential meds, and no/zero pain, psychotropic, or sleep medications.”

Want to know more? Learn about Operation Phoenix. Find out about Mr. Collins’ long-term goal, Veteran Voyage 360. Planet Ford Proud to Aid MOSAIC for New Vehicles

mosaic charitable organization 11.56.27 PMMOSAIC Program students like Cole Nelson are working hard to have a successful life, but getting to work used to be a challenge for him. Imagine going to a job interview on a school bus or in a van that breaks down? That was a reality for him and for dozens of other students in the MOSAIC program.

“We would ask is there a van available, is there a vehicle available?” said Robin Pullen, MOSAIC teacher.

These are students between the ages of 18 and 22 that work every day to learn life skills needed for the post-secondary world. They would use district school buses and old maintenance vans as their transportation from point A to point B.

“We appreciate the white vans more than anyone will ever know, but they are smelly, and they are old, they are nasty, the doors don’t close, and the dash falls off, and the air doesn’t work,” said Pullen.

Their need was obvious, but the students desire to succeed would surpass it. On September of 2013, the owner of Planet Ford saw the need and decided to act.

When you see the children, and you see their need, it is our responsibility and our duty to make sure that they fulfill their needs; at that point Randall said, let’s just give them an expedition,” said Chuck Kramer, Planet’s Ford General Manager.

A few months later, on December of 2013, the dealership presented them with a two year lease of a brand new specially designed ford expedition.

“I love our car, it really made Mosaic what it is,” said Christopher Richard, MOSAIC student. “It’s been so amazing to be able to take our students to job interviews in an expedition instead of a big yellow bus or a van that is going to break down,” said Pullen.

Planet Ford and the mosaic program team hosted fundraisers to help pay for the remainder of the lease for the car. However, in spite of all the efforts, the full amount could not be collected at the end of the lease.

“We were fully committed, so in November 2015, we paid the remaining amount and they own the vehicle now,” said Kramer.

Thanks to their donation, MOSAIC can keep fulfilling their mission of changing students’ lives.

“This program helped me change my life because it helped me be my own responsible adult,” said Destiny Johnson, MOSAIC student.

The new vehicle will ensure that students like Christopher can continue growing in their community, and follow their dreams. “My dream is to practice cooking and spend time with my family,” said Christopher.
