“We are so pleased to present this scholarship to such a hard-working and deserving student,” said Randall Reed, Wwner of Planet Ford in Humble. “Sherry and I believe it’s vital that businesses offer support to local schools and help kids, like Kallie, fulfill their dreams.”

Randall Reed and Planet Ford Honor Teacher of the Year

Randall & Sherry Humble ISD WinnerRandall and Sherry Reed, owner’s of Randall Reed’s Planet Ford in Humble, couldn’t be more excited to honor Humble ISD’s 2013-2014 District Teacher of the Year with a brand new 2014 Ford vehicle! For the second year in a row, Planet Ford will award an all-new 2014 Ford Escape or a sporty 2014 Ford Fusion to the winner of this year’s award. The Reed Family is also awarding a resort vacation in Sedona to the runner-up, complete with airfare and lodging in an exclusive, private villa.

The Reed’s and Planet Ford in Humble believe teachers to be an invaluable resource for local communities and are thrilled to be able to honor these heroes. “We believe contributing to the future of our children and community is crucial,” said Randall Reed. “One of the biggest factors for both are the educators who teach and help raise the children who will define our future.”

Randall & teacher of the YearLast year, the Reed’s and Planet Ford honored Ms. Joanna Grisby, an Elm Grove Elementary fifth-grade teacher, at the Humble ISD Education Foundation Gala by awarding her the option between a Fusion or an Escape. With these two great options, it was tough for Ms. Grisby to decide, but she ultimately opted for the efficient-yet-spacious Escape. Mr. Chuck Kramer, General Manager/Operating Partner at Planet Ford in Humble, noted, “There is no one that is more deserving of such an honor. We are just happy to be able to help recognize all of their never-ending efforts.”

Friday, April 4th, 10 finalists for District Teacher of the Year are honored at the Humble ISD Education Foundation Gala held at the Humble Civic Center. During the Gala, the Elementary and/or Secondary Teacher of the Year is named, and the District Teacher of the Year is named. Both will represent Humble ISD in the Region 4 Teacher of the Year Contest.

Ford EcoBoost Challenge To Visit Houston

Entering the sophomore year of the event, Ford Motor Company will make its way across the United States, 12 different cities to be exact, as part of an effort to give fans an exclusive chance be a part of the best Ford products. Check out the video below for a quick overview.

The 2014 Ford EcoBoost Challenge will feature a handful of vehicles from Ford’s line-up that showcase the powerful but fuel-efficient EcoBoost engine. You’ll find all your Ford favorites at this event, like the speedy Focus ST or the sporty Fiesta ST. Stroll on over to the closed-course competitor challenge to find other Ford’s like the Escape, Fusion, or F-150. The EcoBoost Challenge will host a few different events for fans. Participants can compete against the clock in a Fiesta ST or ride a few thrilling laps with a professional driver in the Focus ST. Fans of hybrid vehicles will get a chance to pit the C-MAX Hybrid up against the competition.

This years event will begin in Phoenix on April 12th and will make its way through 11 other cities by the end of this summer. With over 28,000 fans in attendance for last year’s event, Ford hopes to build on the success from last years challenge. With the introduction of the all-new 2.3L EcoBoost for their 2015 Mustang, Ford is committed to building the EcoBoost brand to be one of the most powerful but efficient engine lineups.

The EcoBoost engine line combines advanced engine technologies to deliver an incredible driving experience to consumers. With turbocharging, direct injection and variable valve timing technologies, the EcoBoost engine serves up a powerful, responsive feel while conserving fuel consumption. As the leader in turbocharged direct-injected gasoline engines in North America, the EcoBoost is set to appear in more than 90% of Ford’s North American lineup by the end of 2014.

2015 Mustang Rises For 50 Year Celebration in NYC

mustang empire stateNext month, Ford is proud to celebrate 50 years of pony production by once again bringing the famed American icon to the top of another famed American Icon, The Empire State Building. After performing this same feat half a century ago, Ford is recreating this one-of-a-kind photoshoot with their all-new 2015 Mustang.

Since it’s introduction and subsequent Empire State visit in 1964, the Mustang has been a world-wide icon for classic American muscle cars. Ford debuted the original Mustang in New York City, and the company can’t wait to return the ‘Stang to the Big Apple for a nostalgic trip to one of the world’s most recognizable buildings. “New York is one of the greatest cities in the world, and it’s the place where the Ford Mustang story began 50 years ago,” said Mark Fields, Ford chief operating officer. “We’re thrilled to be visiting the architectural landmark that has been the heart of the Manhattan skyline for 83 years with the newest generation of the car that is the soul of Ford Motor Company.”Screen Shot 2014-03-26 at 1.00.05 PM

Despite countless technological improvements, getting a huge hunk of American muscle to the top of an 86-story building in the middle of a densely crowded city is not exactly simple. Ford staff will seek to complete their task using the same method as before by dismantling the car to pieces that will fit in the elevator, then reconstructing the car on the top deck.

Ford and The King Ranch Celebrating 15 Years

2015 Ford King Ranch ModelsA few weeks ago Ford Motor Company unveiled a gallery of the three new 2015 King Ranch models, including the F-150, F-Series Super Duty and Expedition, to be launched in late 2014. Ford also revealed a bit of the history  behind their 15-year collaboration with the famous King Ranch in Kingsville, Texas. This achievement came quite easy for the dynamic duo, who have created an authentic partnership based on similar work philosophies, identical core values and common practices.

Such a milestone is important for both King Ranch and Ford Motor Company as it celebrates the unique connection that has developed between the manufacturer of the most popular truck in the United States and the owners behind the largest ranch in Texas. Ford invited the official photographer of Texas, Wyman Meinzer, to capture the unique partnership between Ford and King Ranch. According to Meinzer, “King Ranch is a legacy. These Ford vehicles wear the King Ranch ‘Running W’ brand because they are proven to be legitimate and authentic, in the heritage of both Ford and King Ranch.”

Featured Additions to 2015 F-150

This F-150 model has undergone a series of major changes and minor changes, both inside the vehicle and out. These additions and improvements make this one of the best Ford trucks to date, so we’ve created a brief video and accompanying list of features that showcases what sets the F-150 apart from the rest of the pack.

Under the Hood

The 2015 F-150 features a newly designed 2.7L EcoBoost engine complete with a compacted graphite iron block. This extremely strong engine block is also found in Ford’s 6.7L PowerStroke diesel engine. This revamped engine was also designed with automatic start/stop technology, variable-displacement oil pump, and stronger yet lighter connecting rods Though there are other engine options available, the 2.7L EcoBoost comes standard on the 2015 F-150.

Exterior

The newest addition to the F-150 family showcases a state-of-the-art Military-grade aluminum alloy that is used to create the body, cab, and truckbed. The aluminum alloy replaces a steel body, resulting in 700 lbs. less weight than 2014 model. Fear not, the new F-150 is still Built Ford Tough. The aluminum alloy used is incredibly strong and the truck frame is still made of high-strength steel. This combo yields an efficient yet powerful truck. The exterior also hosts LED box lighting and LED spotlight mirrors for improved vision during dusk, dawn, or anytime in between.

Interior

The dashboard has received an elegant makeover and is outfitted with high-quality materials. Inside the cab, you’ll find 400 Watt power plugs for quick charging access as well as LCD screen that feeds video from the exterior mounted 4-camera monitoring system (great for tight spaces, job sites, and trails). The dash also features a 8-inch LCD productivity display mounted in the instrument panel, providing instant access to driving statistics and other relevant information.
